The Swiss Virtual Campus project "Financial Markets"
is being developed under the supervision of the project leader Prof. Heinz Zimmermann of the University of Basel, in co-operation with the University of Zurich (Prof. Rajna Gibson) and the University of Lausanne (Prof. Jean-Pierre Danthine and Prof. Alexandre Ziegler).
 
The objective of the project is to develop a self-contained Internet-based distance-learning course that introduces the fundamental concepts of Financial Markets with the primary focus on Modern Portfolio Theory and Derivatives.
 
The course is designed as a basic course for students at the master's level specializing in Finance. Due to its practical orientation, the course can also be used for executive programs in Banking and Finance.
